Overview
Super Access is a co-designed assistive system that helps people with disabilities shop more independently, combining real-time support, smart devices and inclusive staff guidance. For these shoppers, every step of a supermarket trip carries uncertainty: staff are hard to identify, asking for help can feel awkward or impossible, and untrained staff widen the gap.
My role
UX Design Lead for a team of four (Wanxin Cao, Yujin Chen, Ziqi Han, Yanting Liu), Feb – Mar 2024. I led research, co-design and prototyping, using Figma, Miro, Rhino and CapCut.
Process
We ran co-design sessions with visually impaired users, a person with motor neuron disease and their language therapist, covering visual, speech and mobility needs. Each session surfaced a specific barrier, which we turned into design questions that guided the solutions.
Outcome
Three solution areas bridge the retail support gap:
- Supermarket Guide Bracelet and Touch Wall
- Fingerlock Wheelchair and Communicare App
- Staff Training Toolkits
